For most classes, if the work wasn't completed, it becomes homework.
Some periods were due at the end of the period due to off task behavior.
We took our first ACT/PLAN style interim assessment today.
Students have an independent homework assignment. They were given a leveled article about Nicolaus Copernicus and are to complete two column notes. It is due Thursday.
Today we read through an article titled "You and the Internet" with partners while practicing two column notes. This was due at the end of the period, however, those who worked very well were allowed to take it home for homework to finish it up.
Today we took the academic language pretest. This simply gives me an idea of where everyone's knowledge base is regarding academic language, so I can see how I need to tailor my lessons within this unit.
The same text will be administered when the unit is complete to determine growth and learning.
Homework: Students were given a leveled article and are to complete a mind map. Due Monday.
In partners, we read an article about outer space and continued to practice the mind mapping technique we learned from yesterday. Some people had to take it home for homework. It is due first thing on Friday.
Also, we will be taking our academic language pretest tomorrow. No big. Just make sure you bring a pencil!
