Students continue to practice active reading with an article about the NFL and players kneeling during the anthem.
Today we took notes on an annotating notes strategy called Active Reading. To practice, we read the story Death by Scrabble.
In this week's edition of Tuesday Writing, the class developed a mind map of ideas for how people's right to freedom of speech are often violated. Students took one of those ideas and wrote a body paragraph.

Using the topic of the soda tax, we compiled a list of things we knew about the tax and wrote a body paragraph to practice paragraph structure.
