Students spent the period reading with their group, and working on the character sheet. A progress grade was given today for this ongoing assignment.
Remember, TOMORROW the Violent Video Games essay is due WITH a peer review sheet.
Students took their root words test on Western Civ roots.

Today we officially kicked off the start of our Group Novels unit!
Students began their group novels, and began filling out a character description chart.

Today was the last day in class student's had to work on their violent video games essay.
It will be due TUESDAY, Nov. 26th. Students may need to spend time in the writing center to complete the essay. It is due WITH the peer review sheet, or the essay will not be accepted.
Students participated in an activity to practice their root words for their upcoming assessment on Friday, Nov. 21st.
Students heard various booktalks on seven different novel choices. Students selected group members, and a novel in which to read. We will be reading this novel in class through the remainder of Quarter 2.
This is the seventh year Mrs. DeWitz has taught Freshman. It is her eighth year at Thornton.
