Today, we read Chapter 4 of Plague Year as a class. We discussed the killer that Molly saw on television in Chapter 3. We did complete a worksheet with that reading.
Have a great four day weekend!
Today we used socratic circles to discuss bulllying. We sat in two circles, each circle facing each other. This way, students are sort of partnered off. The partner of students discussed what they think bullying is, what it looks like, etc. and then wrote down what the other person said. Then, the students in the inner circle switched and discussed bullying with a new classmate.
We did this four times, and then identified a new understanding of bullying.
Period 7/8 could not handle this activity, and completed a reading comprehension packet instead.
Today, we again selected one prompt of the two choices, both of which pertained to our novel Plague Year.
Also, students labeled the parts of the paragraph according to paragraph structure.
Below are the prompt choices.
Today, we read chapter 3 of our class novel, Plague Year. Students had the opportunity to either read with a partner, or on their own.
While reading, students were asked to capture a visual image of what they read, by drawing a picture and explaining the events.
Students then added to the chalkboard question: How has Bran been bullied?
Yesterday we began our latest class novel, Plague Year.
While reading chapter 1 yesterday, you drew a visualization of something significant from that chapter.
Today, we read chapter 2 and answered a few questions about the chapter. We also began an on-going character worksheet.
We did a great job with our weekly PSAE practice.
In addition, vocal drills packet was assigned for practice. It is for homework.
Period 3 is due Friday and Periods 7/8 and 11 is due Thursday.
We did something a little different this. We chose one prompt to write about. Then, labeled each sentence in the paragraph according to the paragraph structure we've been studying. Below are the prompts.
Also, grade sheets were handed out for points and are due Friday.
Extra credit was offered in the form of a signature page for our Class Dojo.
Today was our brain/body roots assessment.
If you were absent, please come to CP soon to make it up.
There was also a leveled reading comprehension packet handed out, which is due when we return Tuesday.

Below is the worksheet we completed today.
