Eight weeks left!
Today, we paved the way for the next part of our unit.
Periods 3 and 11, you read an article on Bullying and competed a note taking worksheet. We're continuing the bullying theme from Plague Year.
Period 7/8: You read an article pertaining to the achievement gap. We're paving the way for a new unit. We'll be discussing the article tomorrow.
Today we finished Plague Year. While reading, students captured one more visualization picture of the culminating events of the novel.
Today, we continued working on an assignment we began last Friday.
Students were assigned a character from our novel, Plague Year, and selected one social media outlet in which to represent their understanding of the character. We'll finish these up on Friday!
Today, we had a very exciting reader's theater.
We'll finish the book Thursday!
Today I read chapters 16 and 17 to class.
While reading, students completed the ABC Brainstorming worksheet while following along with the chapter.
Today we read chapters 14 and 15 of Plague Year.
We did Reader's Theater while reading. It was fun! :)
There was no assignment.
Today we read chapter 13 in a reader's theater style. Everyone did great!
After reading, we completed a worksheet together that addressed the key ideas from this chapter. It was turned in at the end of the period.
Today I read aloud chapters 11 and 12. While listening/following along, students drew a visualization drawing of each chapter.
They turned out great!
Chapter 10 is a really big deal in that we make some pretty huge (potential) information about our main character, Bran.
We're going to re-examine that chapter, using the format of a "Reading a Novel" worksheet.
