Today students took notes on an annotating strategy called Active Reading.
We used this strategy to read about the history of the news, and how it has always been an Agenda Setter.
We played a review game for the vocab words--assessment this Friday.

In this week's edition of Tuesday Writing, the class developed a mind map of ideas for how the news influences society. Students took one of those ideas and wrote a body paragraph.

We examined the role of agenda setting theory in the media. Students identified evidence, and answered questions pertaining to a fake news example.
Today we looked back at the article from yesterday, and addressed the questions in the picture. Students highlighted evidence, and paraphrased the answers within the article.

Using the topic of the soda tax, we compiled a list of things we knew about the tax and wrote a body paragraph to practice paragraph structure.
Using the powerpoint from 9/11, students took notes on vocab 11-20.
