This was so facinating, I read it in a day. Sudhir, while working on his doctorate in sociology, decided to head to one of Chicago's most dangerous neighborhoods trying to understand how people in poverty survive. Instead, he ends up befriending a gang leader, who takes Sudhir under his wing and protection, to truly learn how people in extreme urban poverty survive.
I'm an avid reader. One thing I've learned in my many years on this Earth is that no matter what is happening in your life, you can always benefit from temporarily escaping life in order to become absorbed in a make believe story.
