Fire and Ash is the concluding fourth novel in the Rot and Ruin series.
After this, I have to give zombie books a rest. I stayed up late to finish this book, and my dreams were full of zombie scenarios (by the way, I was totally awesome at killing zombies in my dream).
Now, in Sanctuary, the band of friends (Nix, Benny, Chong, and Lilah) are sort of falling apart. Nix is angry about too many things, Benny is confused by Nix, Lilah is upset about Chong, and, well, Chong craves human flesh.
Benny is obsessed with trying to figure out how to save Chong, but, what he doesn't realize, is that the new leader of the Reapers, Saint John, is heading to Mountainside. He's heading to Mountainside with 40,000+ Reapers and super-fast zombies.
Will he destroy Benny's home? Will Benny save Mountainside and Chong?
The ending to this series was pretty satisfying. Benny turns out to be the baddest-you-know-what 16 year old since Katniss Everdeen. :)
I'm an avid reader. One thing I've learned in my many years on this Earth is that no matter what is happening in your life, you can always benefit from temporarily escaping life in order to become absorbed in a make believe story.
